Stories of Impact – Lifelight

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Wednesday Stories of Impact

A Conversation at Life Light.

For many reasons, this was a different LifeLight: a yearly Christian Music festival south of Sioux Falls SD, a ministry Pizza Ranch supports.  One of the differences was Sunday night when within an hour of each other you would hear Michael W. Smith and then LeCrae.  You couldn’t get any more “diverse” in terms of genre and appeal.  Michael appeals to more of the older crowd, while LeCrae to the younger.

On Sunday, in our Pizza Ranch hospitality tent I had a conversation with a big, tall, strong man and his two kids about who they were most excited to hear.  They said LeCrae without even batting an eye.  But there is more to it.  The man said that back in 2012 he gave his life to Christ because of LeCrae.  He was an alcoholic and lived a messed up life.  Then he heard a song by LeCrae and listened to the words—the lyrics—and it drove him to his knees.  He’s never been the same.

I don’t know the whole story and I don’t know the man, but I do know that in a moment, your life can be changed and you never know what or who will be used to change it.

It also know that God uses music to impact people’s lives.  Music is a powerful medium that often goes straight to the heart.

And that is a reason for hope and joy.
