The Pizza Ranch in Weston, WI recently shared this story.  It was an elderly guest’s 94th birthday and he was at the restaurant with his family.  The staff went out to sing Happy Birthday but noticed he wasn’t really breathing well.  The family didn’t even notice right away.  Bill one of the staff members asked the family if this was normal.  It was then determined that he was having issues swallowing and couldn’t talk.  Bill asked the daughter if he should perform the Heimlich maneuver and she agreed.  He did this and the guest recovered from the choking incident. After determining that an ambulance wasn’t needed, the staff was requested to sing Happy Birthday… so they did!!!
