Thursday Thoughts - Defend Our Faith
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Nehemiah was called to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem and the Temple. This was not an easy task and there were many opposing forces trying to stop this from happening. It got to the point that the workers had to carry a weapon in one hand and their tool in the other hand, as recorded in Nehemiah 4:16-18. The task at hand was so important that they were willing to fight off opposing forces to accomplish the goal. This got me thinking, am I willing to fight for and defend what God has placed on my heart? How do I do this? Ephesian 6:17 tells us, “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” The best way to be prepared to defend ourselves is to read, study and memorize God’s Word. I encourage everyone to make this a daily practice to stay on guard for any attack that may come our way.
