Thursday Thoughts - Go to God with your troubles
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Do you feel overwhelmed with life sometimes? Turmoil in family relationships, unappreciated at work, or an unknown future? Whether the burden is small or large, it can still weigh heavily on us. The question is, “how do we react when these challenges arise?” We can turn inward and try to will ourselves through, or we can shut down with worry and anxiety. Neither of these options will solve the problems that lie in front of us. God says we need to go to him.
Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Philippians 4:6-7 6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
