The shortest verse is found in John 11:35, "Jesus Wept."

This comes from the recording of Lazarus, Jesus' good friend, passing away. Ultimately, Jesus demonstrated again that he is Lord, the resurrection and the life, by raising Lazarus back to life but before this, Jesus felt deep emotions and was led to tears. Jesus was human and was full of sorrow and compassion.
