Thursday Thoughts - The Ark
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Take a moment and think about the biggest project you've ever worked on. Perhaps it was a home remodel or a big project for school. Whatever it was it probably took nearly all of your energy and attention until it was wrapped up. Something you stressed over until it was complete, laid in bed at night thinking about. Now, think about how long that project lasted; maybe a few weeks, perhaps even a few months? I'm guessing through all of that you likely had the support of family or classmates; helping to encourage you, check in on how things were going and overall rooting for your success.
Alright, now imagine that same project taking 70 YEARS. Also, those supportive family members and classmates aren't encouraging you along or rooting for you; in fact they are calling you a fool for wasting so much time and energy. Would you last?
That is what Noah faced when God called him to build the Ark; it wasn't a quick project and it didn't come with a lot of local support. He had faith and persevered; what projects are you facing now that may require a 'Noah type' perseverance?
