Thursday Truth- Be Quick to Listen and Slow to Speak
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
My kids were required to memorize James 2:19-21 for school a few months ago. At first glance, it appeared to be any other bible verse. Until one day, I became angry by a circumstance. This verse from James suddenly came to me, convicting me and helping me to relax. I'm reminded of the verse now every time I get angry or upset about something.
James 2:19-21 19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
