Tuesday Truth - God Lives in Community
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Yesterday we talked about the importance of community in our lives and one suggestion of how to actively seek community in our neighborhoods. We know that God created us live in community and do life with other believers.
But what about God? Did you know that God lives in community? We know this because God is part of the Trinity – the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In Genesis 1:26, in the middle of creating the world, God references the community that He lives within:
“Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Even before the world was created and anything was, God, the Son and the Holy Spirit were already there, in community together. To me, this is such a good and wise truth to lean into – that God wants us in community because He is in community. He knows the benefits of being surrounded by others who are like-minded and wants the same for us as His people.
