Tuesday Truth – God’s Heart is Light

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Tuesday Truths
John 3:20-21

John 3:20-21 – “Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”

Ask almost any Emergency Responder (law enforcement, firefighter or paramedic) and I bet they would say that most of the action they see is at night. Similarly, we have all likely heard about people who lash out on the internet under the guise of “anonymous.” There’s something about being in the dark that can convince people to do things that they normally wouldn’t do when it’s light or light can illuminate their identity.

God desires for all of us to be in His light; to do His good works for all to see. When we are in the light (be it daylight or spiritual light), we are more apt to do good things. When we read the Bible and see what God’s heart is for His people, we learn more about being His light and bringing glory to His name. It’s not about doing good works, but rather leaning on God for strength and using that strength for His glory and good.
