Tuesday Truth - Rescued from Darkness
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
The current season of really short daylight hours is not my favorite. I've always disliked darkness and love when the days "grow longer again." In the darkness it's hard to see, the air is colder, and it feels like things are hiding just beyond what can be seen.
The light allows us to see more clearly. I find it very comforting to know that we don't have to live in darkness when we belong to Christ. Colossians 1:13, "He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, (a kingdom of light), who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins." When we place our trust in Jesus we no longer belong to the kingdom of darkness. In fact our eternal home in heaven "...has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light." (Revelations 21:23)
