Value is defined by lots of different things. We value things based on price, usefulness, having desirable characteristics or qualities. We hold objects or people that are valuable to us in high regard. We pay extra attention to them and take special care of them.

In Matthew, we find these verses about our value to God.

Matthew 10:29-31 ²⁹ What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin^[k]? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. ³⁰ And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. ³¹ So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

Today, rest in the truth that God values you. How you’re doing, and what you’re doing, matters to God because he has declared that you are valuable. Trust him to care for you. You are indeed one of his valuable possessions.
