Possess What’s Yours - Devotion content from “Resilient Hope,” by Christine Caine.

Deuteronomy 1:8 8 Look, I am giving all this land to you! Go in and occupy it, for it is the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to all their descendants.’”

God promised the Israelites the land, he gave it to them. But they had a part to do in making that promise a reality. They had to travel through the wilderness, cross the Jordan River, march around the walls of Jericho, defeat giants and drive out the inhabitants of the land. God had already given them the land, but they had to do their part to fully receive what was already theirs.

The same is true for us today. Whatever God has promised us in His Word is already ours, but we have a part to play in fully receiving all He’s given us.

God wants us walking in all his goodness, resting in his peace, wrapped in his love, filled with his hope, and covered with his protection. We can only realize these things if we’re walking closely with him.

There are over 7000 promises of God in the Bible. If you read 1 promise a day it would take 20 years to read them all! Study them. Trust them. See them lived out in your life as you walk with God. And remember they may be realized in his timing, not ours.

Thoughts to consider:

What has God “set before you” or given you?

Are you walking close enough with God to receive what he has for you? Trust him to be your guide.
