Monday Mission – Read a Favorite Verse
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
You know how your favorite song makes you feel? Warm inside, probably “known” or “seen” in some way? What about your favorite food? A comforting feeling probably comes over you. Or maybe a favorite story, be it a book or movie? Something you can re-watch or re-read a hundred times and love it just as much, if not more, than the first.
Today’s mission is to read a favorite verse in the Bible. One of mine that never fails to bring a sense of peace is Psalms 36:5 – “Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” Every time I read this, God reminds me of His perfect, never-ending love for me; how He will be faithful beyond my imagination and how thankful I am for that gift. How no matter where this life may lead, what blessings may come my way or trials that I’m asked to undergo, that God’s love and faithfulness will never leave me. (There is also a song version of this by Third Day that I turn on when I need a sense of peace in my soul – so good if you look it up.)
What’s one of your favorite verses? Take a moment to read it and be reminded of God’s love and faithfulness that He’s promised to us.
