Tuesday Truth – Be Strong and Courageous

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

One of my favorite themes of the Bible is how God promises to be with us. In the book Joshua, Joshua was appointed as the new leader of the Israelites after Moses died and God was calling him to some epic battles. God didn’t just give Joshua cities or land, but asked him to trust God in the (quite literal) heat of the battle.

Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you where you go.”

While some of us may be fighting in actual war-like battles, everyone is fighting something, be it fear, anxiety, depression, concern for ourselves or someone we love. This verse is a powerful reminder that God is always with us and that because of His presence, we don't have to be afraid in the mist of whatever battle we may face.
