Monday Mission - Remember to Celebrate
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
It's my dad's birthday today. What a great reason to celebrate! Bring on the cake, maybe some candles and gifts.
Did you know that the Bible mentions celebrating? In biblical times people celebrated feasts, the Passover, victory in a battle just to name a few. Our celebrations today might look different, but it seems like food, some sort of gathering together, and gifts have been common themes throughout history.
One of my favorite celebrations in the bible is found in Luke 15:11-32. It's the story of the "lost" son who has turned away from God and his family and then returns. They celebrate and are very grateful that the lost son has returned. Today, my encouragement is to remember to celebrate those that were once lost as well as those that have stayed by your side consistently throughout your life. Find joy and reason to celebrate a life lived in Christ and turned towards Christ!
