Thursday Thought - Do you have deep roots?

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Obviously we don't have physical roots like this tree, thankfully we are free to walk around and move from place to place. However it's good to think about what you are rooted in. What's the foundation that dictates how you make decisions, how you treat others, how you deal with difficult situations? Are you rooted in something? And can that "something" sustain you? Roots need to grow down deep in order to weather storms. Roots also take time to grow. What are you doing to grow deep strong roots rooted in Christ and in his truth? He's the only thing that will sustain you through all life's trials, for he alone is the truth and the life.

One other quick thought. This tree has exposed roots, which is kind of rare. What if people could see your roots? Would they see that your roots are deep and strong, ready for the storm? Or would they be concerned about how well you'll do when the storm comes. May your roots go down deeper every day.

Colossians 2:7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
