Thursday Thought - Nothing, Not Ever

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

The other day we touched on the idea that sometimes God is quiet in different seasons of life. I have a friend who has walked a season with God recently where there was great uncertainty. She told me a few times about how hard it was when it felt like God wasn’t moving and wasn’t saying anything. My friend is an amazing godly woman though and always ended the conversation with the confirmation that God is good and He is always there.

What a gift she is to me and so many – in the midst of a trial, questions and wrestling with doubt, she pointed back to God and firmly planted her feet in Him, knowing and trusting that He is always faithful to those who love Him. It was an inspiring reminder to me that even in the quiet and when we can’t see the next steps, that God is present and nothing can separate us from His love.

Paul wrote to the Romans that nothing can separate us from the love of God and he was right. I’m thankful that the promises of the Bible are still as true today as when they were written all those years ago.

Romans 8:38-39 “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries tomorrow – not even the power of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
