Thursday Thought - Rejoicing when you die

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

I recently read a book that referenced an old saying from an American Indian tribe, "When you were born you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way that when you die the world cries and you rejoice." What a great life philosophy! Once you've received Christ as your Savior you no longer have to fear death. What awaits you after life on Earth is so much better that we can comprehend, but yet the Bible tells us how wonderful it will be, so we can eagerly await that. For anyone that has lost someone with a faith so sure and so confident, I think we can even take it one step further. The world will cry when we are gone, but after the tears have been shed they too can rejoice knowing that their loved one is rejoicing with Jesus in heaven. What a great legacy to leave behind to those you love - assurance of your salvation and encouragement for them to find Christ as well. On a day of mourning may there be rejoicing as well.

Revelations 21:4 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
