Thursday Thoughts – Give Thanks in all Circumstances
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Today we are going to dig into verse 18 of 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” This is the third action we are looking at in Paul’s list of instructions for living in the will of God instead of the ways of the world.
Similar to what we discussed on Monday, this call to action applies to all seasons of life. Paul didn’t write “Give thanks in the good times” or “Give thanks in successful times”. No, he wrote “Give thanks in ALL circumstances.”
Give thanks in times of fellowship.
Give thanks in times of loneliness.
Give thanks in times of health.
Give thanks in times of sickness.
Give thanks in times of abundance.
Give thanks in times of scarcity.
Give thanks in ALL Circumstances.
When we live lives that constantly rejoice, pray, and express gratitude, we are living in the will of The Lord and it will separate us from those who live in the ways of the world.
