Tuesday Truth - People More Than Flowers

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you – you of little faith?” - Matthew 6:28-29

Hi, my name is Kate and I am a worrier. I am a recovering over-thinker. And verses like this are a balm to my nervous soul.

Maybe it’s not clothes that you worry about. Maybe it’s whether that next grocery run will overdraw your checking account. Maybe you worry about a way-ward family member who you love but there’s a struggle going on. Maybe you have a medical diagnosis that isn’t the good news you hoped to receive.

It’s situations like these that remind us that while life is imperfect and hard, our God is sovereign and always good. Jesus went out of His way to remind us that the beautiful flowers are cared for by God, but how much more are we loved by our Creator than flowers. No matter our circumstance, we can rest assured that God cares more for us than all of the flowers in the whole world. And that we can trust Him – His plan, His timing, His love, His purposes, His heart.
