Tuesday Truth - Strong Fortress

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Proverbs 18:10 – The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe.
As I was thinking about God’s truths as I sat down to write today’s post, this verse jumped to my mind. Depending on the day, I think about God in different ways. Some days I focus on His grace (gives us what we don’t deserve); some days I think about His mercy (doesn’t give us what we do deserve); some days it’s His justice; other days it’s His love and compassion. Today the idea of God being a strong fortress or tower is what came to mind.
I know that God is able and that He is good, but I don’t always actively remember that even His name is strength. He is strong where I am weak; He offers a safe place for me to run to, no matter the situation. Even dire circumstances, tough diagnoses, or a bad day doesn’t at all negate the strength that God embodies.
Today I’m thankful for the Strong God we serve; that we may run to Him and find His sustaining strength.
