We have a special story today from Sami, one of our managers in Green Bay, WI.

Around here, Spring is in full bloom. The birds are chirping their morning melodies, the flowers are bursting open in brilliant colors, and the weather is unpredictable in our neck of the woods. It's not hard to spot evidence of God's handiwork in His creation each time you step outdoors.

I have been going through a book with my mentor called Handbook to Leadership – Leadership in the Image of God. In the book it talks about many different forms of development – personal, skill and relational development. Each section has subsections where it talks about specific traits to go along with that subsection. For example, with Humility – it breaks it down each day with “Humility and who God is”, “Humility and who I am”, “Humility and how I think”, “what I do”, etc. One of the sections that has really stood out to me is the section on self-discipline. Before we get into that, read 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

This week we've looked at the impact that acts of kindness have on people. The impact on the giver, the receiver, and those who witness it. We also looked at what Scripture says about the importance of refreshing other people is (2 Tim 1:16). Enjoy this video of random acts of kindness.

Refreshing others is a great way to leave a legacy and change the world we live in. It's scientifically proven, AND is a truth found in Scripture.

Today is “Good Friday,” the day we remember when Jesus was crucified on the cross. Did you know that the events of Jesus’ death and resurrection didn’t just happen by chance, but that it was planned and foretold centuries beforehand? It can be very encouraging to read passages that show Scripture coming true.

Yesterday we introduced you to Emmett's story, a boy from Orange City, IA who suffered a stroke. Monday, April 15 a group of Emmett's family, friends, and classmates, with their parents, worked hard to raise funds to help with some of Emmett's medical expenses. The Orange City Pizza Ranch had a tremendous turnout and the workers had an incredible time coming together for this cause.

Emmett is a 10-year-old from Orange City, IA who suffered a pontine stroke 2 weeks ago. Several employees at the Support Center know Emmett and his family through school and church related activities. Our entire organization has been lifting him up in prayer throughout his road to recovery.

Prepare your heart. During this Holy Week reflect, pray, and rejoice for all that He endured on our behalf. Prepare not only this week but prepare also for His return.
