Thursday Thought - Manure Happens
“Manure Happens” is an interesting/funny take on an old phrase. I heard this on a podcast interview Tim Timmons gave about going through tough times in life. While manure may initially seem bad and something we want to avoid, it also has many beneficial purposes. The benefits of manure are: a good source of macronutrients, improves soil fertility, improves physical properties and aerates the soil. Crops that are grown on land treated with manure produce healthier crops.

Tuesday Truth - Trust
One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” This is an important reminder for me. It’s easy to get sucked into worry and anxiety about what might happen or what someone might think of me. We need to remember the name of our God, Immanuel, meaning “God is with us”. This verse reminds me to not worry and trust that God is with me now and every day after. We needn’t worry about tomorrow, just walk with God today.
Monday Mission - Prayer
Prayer…How often do we stop and talk to God? Is it just a quick request or do we take time to really spend intimate time with God? The Shema prayer, in Deuteronomy 6:4-5, is one of the most famous prayers in the Bible. “Hear O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is one. And as for you, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
Friday Devotional - The Power of Your Words
It seems like a lot of my parenting moments of late have centered around encouraging my children to understand the power of their words and/or helping them to navigate through the hurt they feel due to the powerful words of another. All too often we underestimate the power of our words and how they can either build someone up or tear someone down.

Friday Devotional - Present Over Perfect
One of the books I’m reading right now is Present over Perfect by Shauna Niequist and as the sub-title suggests, the books details the author’s journey of “leaving behind frantic for a simpler, more soulful way of living.” The idea of being present and showing up in your life and not being so concerned about perfect, the hustle and the push to get all.the.things. done.
Thursday Thought - Good News
“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!” ― Anne Frank
