Fall is upon us and I for one am thrilled! Despite having allergies while living in Iowa among corn and beans being harvested, it’s still my favorite season. I’m here for anything apple, pumpkin, sweaters, warm beverages… well, you get the picture.

Have you spent more time in prayer this week? I know I have been blessed by not just bringing my requests to God, but by focusing on WHO he is and WHAT he does, not just what he does for me. In my quiet time this week I also spent time looking up Bible verses about prayer and noticing the different characteristics of God throughout those passages. Here is some of my list. Thursday Thought – Seasons of Life

Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Usually when this verse comes to mind, it’s connected to something hard or difficult – a death, someone undergoing chemo, or in a season of waiting. As a teenager, my mom would tell me “Kate, just enjoy right now.” I wasn’t angsty but could always identify something that I was waiting on or wanted to by-pass quickly.

Thursday Thought - Rejoicing when you die

I recently read a book that referenced an old saying from an American Indian tribe, "When you were born you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life in such a way that when you die the world cries and you rejoice." What a great life philosophy!
