I often wondered as I grew up why the Old Testament was so important. I thought that the New Testament was what I needed to focus on because of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus….along with all He taught. But, Jesus also taught his disciples that the entirety of the OT actually pointed to Him. So, now I’ve grown to appreciate and see how important OT Scripture is.
Thursday Thoughts - Turn Back to God
I’ve been reading through the Prophets in the Old Testament and have been struck by how many times God repeatedly asked His people to repent from their sins and humble themselves before Him. God used the prophets to actively warn the people that if they did not choose to return to Him, then they would face all of the consequences that God laid out before Moses and others.
