Friday Devotional - What Is God Unexpectedly Calling You To?

I’m an Enneagram 1, which is “The Perfectionist”. Some characteristic traits are being conscientious & ethical, having a strong sense of right & wrong, always striving to improve things but fear making mistakes and well-organized, orderly and detail ordered. Now you know exactly who I am because this is me to a T 😊

Thursday Thought - God is Love

My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him.

Wednesday Stories

Wednesday Story of Impact - Waukesha, WI Impacts Community

The Pizza Ranch in Waukesha, WI continues to be a pillar of hope for their community. Last year the city experienced turmoil when a Christmas Parade turned tragic, storms devastated the area in July, and COVID continued to shock local charities, schools and organizations with closures and limited activities. #WaukeshaStrong became their anthem and the Pizza Ranch has stepped up to the plate on many occasions to make sure all are welcome and taken care of.

Tuesday Truth - Perfect Love

In our fallen human state, we are incapable of the perfect love that our hearts desire. Christ, however, has set the example for us and described how we should love others in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

Monday Mission - Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you recognize today as a day to celebrate or not, something that IS worth celebrating is the truth that God loves YOU. I love this reminder from Ephesians 3: 17B-19,

Friday Devotional - The Soil of our Heart

This morning we’re looking at Mark 4:1-21, which is about the parable of the soils. Most often this parable is seen as a salvation passage. In other words, Christians are the result of seeds falling on good soil. BUT, we’re going to look at it from a different perspective today. We’re going to look at it as a daily experience for each of us who claim Christ in our life.

Friday Devotional - Gratitude

This week on pizzaranchserves.com there have been posts on gratitude, and they have really hit me. Ephesians 5:20 talks about having gratitude to God in everything. It’s a key verse in the Book of Ephesians so, it’s not just a good idea. The Lord is instructing us to do this, to make gratitude an intentional habit. Gratitude is an act of obedience.

Picture of a newspaper clip that reads "Thank you for the Chores: Lord Thank you for the sink of dirty dishes; we have plenty of good food to eat. Thank you for the big pile of dirty clothes; we have them to wear. Thank you for these unmade beds; they were all comfortable last night. Thank you for this finger-smudged refriderator that desperately needs defrosting; it has served us faithfully for a long time. Our family is gratefuly for the tall grass that needs mowing; we al enjoy our private yard. Thank you for that slamming door; the children are healthy and able to run and play. Lord, the presence of all the chores awaiting me says that you have richly blessed this family. I shall do them all gratefully.

Thursday Thoughts - Thank you for Chores

Growing up I must have seen this prayer 1,000 times. My mom clipped this prayer out of a church newsletter several decades ago. She had it hung up on the side of the refrigerator, where it still hangs today. While this is only a short 8 sentence prayer, it is such a great reminder that even in the chaos and busyness of life, we so are so blessed!
